In a called Board meeting Monday, October 26, The Emanuel County Board of Education named Mr. Jansen Ware as the sole finalist for Superintendent of Emanuel County Schools, with an anticipated start date of December 1, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Emanuel County, Mr. Ware brings more than 22 years of service to Emanuel County Schools and a broad range of leadership experience at both the school and district levels. He currently serves as Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, a position he has held for more than two and a half years. Prior to that role, he served seven years as Executive Director of Operations and five years as an administrator at Swainsboro High School.

“Mr. Ware has demonstrated strong leadership, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to the students, employees, and families of Emanuel County Schools,” said Board Chairman Del Brown. “His experience across many areas of the district, along with the relationships he has built throughout our schools and community, has prepared him well to lead Emanuel County Schools forward. The Board is confident in his ability to continue advancing our mission to prepare and inspire all students for college and career success through personalized learning and relevant experiences.”

Current Superintendent Dr. Denise Warnock also expressed confidence in the Board’s selection. “I am pleased that the Board of Education has named Jansen Ware as the sole finalist for Superintendent of Emanuel County Schools. Having worked closely with Mr. Ware for many years, I have seen firsthand his unwavering commitment to Emanuel County Schools and the community we serve, a commitment reflected in his fourteen years of leadership at both the school and district levels. Mr. Ware leads with humility and quiet confidence, but beneath his reserved demeanor is a strength of character, sound judgment, and the resolve to make difficult decisions when necessary. He understands our schools, our people, and the responsibility that comes with serving them. I am confident that his servant leadership, experience, and genuine investment in Emanuel County will serve our students, staff, and families well as he leads the district into its next chapter.”

In accordance with Georgia law, O.C.G.A. § 50-18-72(a)(11), the Board is announcing Mr. Ware as the sole finalist at least 14 calendar days before taking final action on the appointment. The Board is scheduled to consider the appointment at its called meeting on November 12, 2026, at 2 p.m.
