August 7
Officer responded to Dawson Street in reference to a civil matter involving a landlord-tenant lease dispute. The complainant/tenant stated that she notified her landlord of her intention to terminate her lease agreement early. She advised that she moved out of the residence sometime during the previous month but still had some personal belongings inside the residence. She further stated that when she went to pick up the remainder of her things, the locks had been changed.
Officer was dispatched to New Street in reference to the caller advising his apartment had been broken into. C/p stated that he had gotten a phone call from a neighbor that someone had broken into his home. He further advised that nothing had been taken from the residence. Another officer came over the radio stating that he had a male that could possibly be the offender. That male was found to have an active warrant and was arrested.
Officer received a phone call stating that c/p was on South Main Street when 3-4 males were observed running, throwing things into a vehicle with a drive out tag, and leave quickly.
Officer responded to Kite Road in reference to the complainant/offender delivering materials striking power lines.
August 8
Officer took a report at SPD in reference to harassing communications. C/p stated that the offender had been harassing her by repeatedly calling her phone and riding by her house. Contact was attempted but was not made.
Officer responded to West Church Street in reference to an outdoor AC unit stolen from the property. C/p stated that he noticed the unit was missing while he was cutting the grass.
Officer was dispatched to the area of McLeod Bridge Road in reference to a report of stolen property. C/p stated that the offender took her wallet containing her EBT card, Cash App card, ID, and cash.
Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Road in reference to the caller stating a male subject busting out her window. She stated that the offender was her ex-boyfriend.
Officer was dispatched to Lewis Street in reference to a male subject harassing a juvenile. C/p stated that her daughter was talking to a 22/23-year-old male via TikTok messages.
Officer was dispatched to Miller Drive in reference to damage to property. C/p stated that his neighbor across the street had someone cut his grass earlier that day causing pebbles to break the back window of his vehicle.
August 9
Officer was patrolling the area of South Main Street and South Circle Drive when a vehicle was observed entering the center turning lane in attempt to merge into traffic. The driver was found to have a suspended license and an invalid work permit. Offender was arrested.
Officer was approached by c/p stating he needed medical assistance. He further stated that he had relapsed and was transported to the emergency room.
Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. Offender was arrested.
Officer responded to Dawson Street in reference to an anonymous c/p reporting a male pulling a female’s hair and the female screaming. All parties were separated.
911 dispatched officers to Emanuel Medical Center in reference to a mother taking her daughter, who had reportedly swallowed a quarter, from the emergency staff before she could be assessed. After locating the offender and the child, they returned to the hospital for the child to receive treatment.
C/p came to SPD and stated she was being followed by a vehicle. She further stated that the vehicle almost hit her in a parking lot and proceeded to follow her and lay on the horn until she pulled into SPD.
August 10
Officer responded to North green Street in reference to a welfare check. 911 advised that c/p’s boyfriend was not answering her phone calls and did not show up for work and was having suicidal thoughts the night before. C/p’s boyfriend was located and stated he had just drank too much the night before and did not wish to harm himself.
Officer responded to a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident at the intersection of South Main and West Main Street. The pedestrian was awake and alert and Georgia State Patrol took over the scene.
Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to South Coleman Street in reference to someone throwing trash on the property. C/p stated that this was an ongoing issue with this offender. Offender was issued a citation.
Officer was patrolling the area of Gumlog Road when he observed the offender who was known to have active warrants. Offender was arrested.
August 11
Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to Center Street in reference to a female who stated she was attempting to walk to Norwood Avenue and did not feel safe. Upon arrival she advised that someone was following her. She further stated that she had been at a friend’s house and when she tried to leave, he told her she could not go home. She was transported safely to her residence.
Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a gun located in the store. While leaving the store, a male approached officers stating he lost his gun inside. He was advised to prove ownership at SPD and the gun would be returned to him.
Officers responded to Tiger Trail in reference to a female wanting to make a report of harassment. C/p stated that her ex-boyfriend had been threatening her. She advised that her home security camera captured a vehicle pulling into her yard multiple times within approximately 10 minutes.
Officers responded to East Pine Street in reference to an ongoing physical altercation. Upon arrival offender stated that she had taken the other offender to her grandmother’s house. She further stated that the other offender came back to the residence and started banging on the door. When she opened the door, the woman jumped on her and began striking her in the head. The other offender stated that when she returned to the residence, she was called names and they got into an altercation. Due to conflicting statements no arrest was made.
Officers were dispatched to Lakewood Drive in reference to a female fighting another female. Upon arrival, a female approached the patrol vehicle stating that she was “acting a fool” and that she grabbed the other woman by the hair. Offender was arrested.
Officer was dispatched to North Racetrack Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle that had reportedly driven past the caller’s residence multiple times.
Officer was dispatched to Enmarket in reference to a possible domestic dispute. The caller stated that a female had his check deposited into his Cash App account and would not return the funds.
Officer met with the victim in regard to an elder abuse case that was reported by the Department of Human Services. The victim advised that her bank conducted an investigation after a scam was reported to her credit card company. She stated that the bank would not return the funds due to her willingly purchasing a gift card in the amount of $500.
August 12
Officer was dispatched to Grady Street in reference to a stolen property report. C/p stated an unknown person stole his trailer containing two pressure washers, a water jug, and a ladder from his backyard.
Officer responded to Enmarket in reference to a shoplifting. The offender had already left the scene.
Officer responded to Alice Circle in reference to property needing to be destroyed. C.p stated that he had Delta 8 items that he ordered but they smelled different so he wanted it discarded but did not want to put them in the trashcan nearby in fear children may get it.
Officer responded to Alice Circle in reference to a welfare check. Dispatch stated that the resident was on the phone with a mental health probation officer stating he had electricity flowing in his floors and was tearing holes in the walls of his home. The caller refused EMS.
Officer responded to New Street in reference to a report of harassment. C/p stated that a male continuously comes by her residence yelling things at her and her daughter.
Officers were dispatched to Ben Street in reference to a mother stating her son was being disrespectful and would not pay her the internet money. The offender was found to have a vape in his hand and was notified that he was not allowed to have one until he was 21, and he was only 20. A citation was written. He was also advised that if he does not pay his mother and continues to act disrespectful, she will evict him.
Offender was arrested for an active warrant.
August 13
Officer was at the intersection of Lewis Street and Gumlog Road assisting the fire department when he heard what sounded like a domestic disturbance in progress. He exited his patrol vehicle and heard individuals yelling profane words. Upon approaching the residence, three individuals were seen yelling at each other. All parties stated that the verbal altercation began over a cell phone being taken at school.
Officers were dispatched to South Racetrack Street in reference to an unresponsive male. The male was pronounced dead at the scene.
August 14
Officer responded to East Pine Street in reference to a domestic dispute. Offender was found to have an active warrant and was arrested.
Officer took a walk-in report at SPD. C/p stated that his brother-in-law was driving in Swainsboro and he heard for him causing an accident due to his mental state. He was located and agreed to be driven home by c/p.
Officers responded to a report assault. C/p stated her boyfriend had assaulted her. She further stated that she had gone to offender’s residence and his wife was on the couch when she walked in. She stated that the offender had told her he and his wife were separated and then struck her multiple times with an ashtray on top of her head. The wife stated that c/p came in and threatened them and began attacking them. All parties were separated.
Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to the emergency room in reference to a juvenile patient who had reportedly been bitten by a dog. The mother stated that the juvenile was staying at a friend’s residence and reportedly began barking at the dog and got too close to it, at which time the dog lunged at him and bit him on his right upper thigh.
