Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported...

April 2

911 dispatched officers to West Church Street in reference to a complainant stating that a male subject had a gun. C/p advised that the offender pointed the firearm at her head after a verbal altercation. All parties were separated.

Officer responded to a dispute where c/p stated that her mother had her children’s social security cards along with birth certificates and she wanted them back.

Officers responded to West Church Street in reference to a dispute between two females. Both females stated that the dispute was over one of their cellphones that was broken. Both females accused the other of attacking them.

Officer was patrolling the area of Tiger Trail when a vehicle was observed with a brake light out. A traffic stop was conducted, and drug related objects were located. Offenders were arrested.

911 dispatched officers to the area of Freedom Street for a third-party call stating there was a female sitting beside the road with clothing scattered in the roadway. The woman stated her boyfriend threw her out of the house along with her clothes. The offender was advised to either clean the mess up or go to jail for disorderly conduct. All of the clothing was picked up and put in a laundry basket.

April 3

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to two 911 hang up calls. Negative contact was made.

Offender was arrested for an active warrant.

Officer observed vehicle headlights coming from the recreation department parking lot. Due to all city parks being closed after dark, an investigation was initiated. Offender was found to have a firearm and be in possession of marijuana and was arrested.

Officer was advised by 911 to contact Candler County E.R. in reference to a rape that was reported to have occurred in Swainsboro. All parties were contacted.

Officer responded to North Main Street in reference to a theft complaint. C/p stated that while cutting the grass at the church he observed that the panel on the HVAC unit had been removed.

Officer initiated a traffic stop on East MLK after running the tag showing the owner wanted. Offender was arrested.

Officer was dispatched along with EMS to South Main Street near Murphy’s Gas Station in reference to an elderly male experiencing an unknown medical emergency. Officer learned that the male had suffered a stroke in the past and appeared not to be in condition to drive safely. He was transported to SPD to be picked up by his son.

Officers were dispatched to assist Emanuel County with a vehicle driving south on Hwy 1 North coming towards Swainsboro city limits. Offender was arrested for DUI.

April 4

Officer was dispatched to the Rodeway Inn in reference to unwanted persons. C/p stated that the offenders were supposed to have vacated their room that morning but when asked to leave they became irate. Offender also had an active warrant and was arrested.

Officers were dispatched to a mental subject on East Main Street that was attempting to jump out of a vehicle. C/p stated that she and her husband were arguing and he wanted to get out of the vehicle and she grabbed his shirt and tore it to keep him in. His father came and picked him up due to the c/p already leaving the scene.

Officer was dispatched to South Green Street in reference to a 911 hang up call. Contact was made and the caller stated she was having phone troubles and had to reset her phone.

Officer was dispatched to Glenwood Road in reference to a reported suicide attempt. 911 advised that a 17-year-old had ingested approximately 16 Tylenol tablets. EMS arrived and transported the subject to the emergency room.

Officer was patrolling around North Main Street when an older black male was observed walking down the road with a cane and told officer that he was robbed by an unknown subject. No contact was made with an offender.

911 dispatched officers to North Anderson Drive due to four males fighting in the parking lot. The males were identified as three brothers, but there were no signs of a fight. The offender was trespassed from the property.

April 5

Offender was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana.

Officer was dispatched to Canoochee Road in reference to the caller being concerned of a dog barking too much. Negative contact was made with anyone at the residence.

Officer was flagged down at SPD in reference to a report of a stolen firearm. The victim stated that his handgun was taken from his vehicle.

Officers responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. C/p stated that an unknown male attempted to leave the store without paying for several items but had fled the scene and left behind the unpaid merchandise.

Officer responded to Lane Storage in reference to the caller stating she did not feel safe and wanted an officer to check out another vehicle that had been sitting there for a while. The driver of the vehicle stated that she had been sitting there for a while before checking their storage unit due to being on the phone with her friend.

Officer was dispatched to West Pine Street in reference to a 911 hang up call with a child heard in the background. The caller stated that her son had her phone and did not mean to.

April 6

Offender was arrested for an active warrant and possession of a drug related object.

Officer was dispatched to Rentz Street for a missing person. C/p stated that her husband left walking on the Saturday before and had not returned and was not answering calls.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Watson and Sycamore Street in reference to a report of reckless driving involving an ATV and a golf cart. Two juveniles were located and warnings were issued.

Officer responded to Lucky St. in reference to a welfare check. Victim was found to be ok.

Information was received from a concerned citizen of a possible drug deal going down at a specific room at Roadway Inn. Officer observed a vehicle pull in and go straight to the room and a female exited the vehicle and went into the room and came back out in about two minutes and left the location. Officer advised he was behind the vehicle, and the left side tag light was out and not visible from 50’, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Officer asked the driver if there was anything illegal indie the vehicle at which she replied no. The female’s purse contained broken down cash of $786 along with blunt wraps and rolling papers. A clear baggie containing meth residue, a glass pipe and copper Brillo were found inside the vehicle. Driver and passenger were transported to EmCo Jail.

April 7

Officer responded to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a 911 hang-up call.

Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated she and her bother reside together and they got into an argument and she asked him to pack his belongings and leave. C/p stated offender then got upset and threw juice on the walls and ceiling and snatched her phone when she told him she was calling the law. C/p advised offender grabbed her and they started fighting in front of her minor child and he drug her out of the apartment and down the steps.

Complainant stated his debit card was used by offender without authorization for $171.20.

Officer responded to Thompson’s Minit Mart in reference to shoplifting. Complainant stated both offenders entered the store and while the cashier was occupied away from the counter with one offender, the other one grabbed eight Vivazen bottles valued at $64 and put them in her jacket pocket, then they exited the store.

Complainant stated her sister-in-law has been sending harassing text messages to her.

Officers were advised that offender was at court for a probation revocation and was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer placed offender under arrest and court and transported him to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to Green St. in reference to a dog being struck by a vehicle. Complainant stated he and his wife were walking across the street when their dog was struck by a vehicle.

Officer was dispatched to Prosperity Dr. in reference to two 911 hang-up calls. Victim stated she was having chest pain and double vision. Officer requested EMS for further treatment and victim was transported to EMC ER.

Officer responded to Gumlog Rd. in reference to damage to a vehicle.

Office4r transported offender to EmCo Jail for probation revocation.

Officer responded to Gumlog Rd. in reference to someone entering the residence through a window.

April 8

Officer responded to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a fight and offender had left the scene. Victim stated offender confronted her about seeing her boyfriend and began hitting her. Offender was located and transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer responded to Electric Dr. in reference to complainant stating offender was making threats.

Officer made contact with three occupants at a residence and observed conditions of possible self-neglect. Incident was referred to GA Adult Protective Services.

Officer took a report where complainants reported damage to property.

Officers responded to Center St. in reference to an active domestic. Complainant stated offender takes medicine for bipolar and schizophrenia and they had a disagreement and offender started dumping medicine out of bottles, spilling dog food and water all over the floor, threw c/p’s work clothes in the water and poured bleach on them. Offender advised he has been taking his meds but apparently they aren’t working and he wants to harm himself and was transported to EMC ER.

Officers were dispatched to Freedom St. in reference to a dispute. Complainant stated offender was going crazy looking through everything and breaking stuff.

Officers were dispatched to KT’s in reference to an abuse case. Brother of the juvenile victim stated he went to Abundance St. to pick up his sister/victim, and she ran outside crying, so he went and banged on the door and was threath4ened. Victim stated she and her boyfriend got into an argument and she wanted to leave so her brother picked her up. Victim stated her boyfriend’s brother-in-law touched her inappropriately and tried to kiss her.

Officers responded to N Main St. in reference to a 911 hang-up call. Officer arrived and could hear a female screaming at someone and a male hollering back. Male subject stated offender was hitting on her and he was trying to leave. Male subject stated he and offender got into an argument at offender’s house and he walked home and when he got there, offender was there and jumped on him. Officer observed marks relevant to his story. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to Gumlog and Booker St. in reference to caller advising male subject did not want to give the child back to her.

Officer was dispatched to Ben St. in reference to an alarm call.

April 9

Officers were dispatched to Louise St. in reference to a baby not breathing. Upon arrival, the baby was breathing and the mother stated the baby had a possible seizure. EMS arrived and transported the baby to EMC ER.

Officer responded to N Green St. in reference to damage to a vehicle.

Officers responded to Howarth Dr. in reference to complainant stating her brother struck her in the head with a bat. C/p stated her brother entered her residence through a window and struck her multiple times. Witnesses stated they did not see offender strike c/p with the bat but did observe c/p strike offender with it and c/p initiated the argument and was not being truthful about the incident. Witness stated c/p locked everyone out and offender ran around to find a way inside and entered through the window. Both were transported to EmCo Jail.

Detective met with victim in reference to a fraudulent wire transfer. Victim stated he signed for $9,700 to be sent to offender then realized it was a scam.

Officer received a call from Detective in reference to meeting with complainant at EMC regarding suspected marijuana found int a former patient’s belongings.

Officer responded to Howarth Dr. in reference to an ungovernable child. Complainant stated her 5-year-old child threw a stick at a juvenile while playing and he was punished, then the juvenile pulled the child off the porch and c/p and the juvenile got into an argument and the juvenile began yelling and using profanity toward c/p.

Officer to a report in reference to trespassing. Complainant stated an unknown male subject went to her residence uninvited and turned the doorknob.

Officer was dispatched to Stevens Dr. in reference to loud music. Complainant stated his windows would rattle and his sister who lives nearby was having the same issue. Officer made contact with offender and advised him of different complaints, and he stated he understood and would keep the volume down.
