March 5
Officer was already aware that the old school building had previously experienced a theft of copper pipe. While on the southwest side of the building, he observed that two additional AC units had been ripped open and the copper piping had been removed.
Officer observed a driver without a seatbelt on and conducted a traffic stop. It was found that the driver had a warrant and was arrested. Officer observed a male standing away from a residence on Rentz Street and urinating. Offender was placed under arrest for public indecency.
Emanuel County 911 dispatched officers to Swainsboro Apartments in reference to a complainant stating that someone paid him for a washer and dryer, later decided they did not want it, received their money back, but he did not receive his property back. The offender agreed to allow c/p to retrieve his property from her residence.
Officer was dispatched to South Racetrack Street in reference to vehicle damage from a pothole.
Officer received a phone call from a detective in reference to a truck doing burnouts and driving at a high rate of speed in the Walmart parking lot. Offender was placed under arrest for reckless driving.
Officer observed a vehicle parked at the Van Community Center after dark. Due to the park being closed, he pulled into the parking area to investigate. Upon approaching the vehicle, officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Offender complied and stated he was about to smoke but that was all he had, stomped it, and left the scene without incident.
March 6
911 dispatched officers to North Main Street in reference to a disabled vehicle. C/p advised that the vehicle had broken down and that it was a rental.
Officer responded to North Anderson Drive in reference to a dispute. C/p stated that a couple was arguing in their room. Both parties stated they were arguing because the female did not inform the male about an appointment two weeks in advance. They stated it was verbal and not physical. Officers mediated the situation.
Officer responded to Mary Ann Street in reference to a reported burglary that had already occurred. C/p stated that she had been out of town and had returned to the residence two days before. Upon entering the residence, she observed the front door to be ajar and there were no signs of forced entry. The items missing were prescription medications but was unable to provide monetary value. Contact was made with neighbors, but no one had seen or heard anything suspicious.
Officer responded to West Main Street in reference to a wanted person. Offender had an active probation warrant and was arrested.
C/p came into SPD to report damage to his vehicle. He stated that an unknown person damaged the rear driver’s side bumper and left the area without reporting the damage to the victim.
Officer was dispatched to Arden Drive in reference to a custody dispute. C/p stated that he arrived to get his kids and stated his wife would not allow him to get them that evening. His wife stated that he was not right in the head and had other issues.
Officer observed a man on the ground crying at the Magic Mall Monument. It was explained that his vehicle was having issues. Vehicle was towed.
Officer was dispatched to the area of Stewart Road and Sycamore Street in reference to a 4-wheeler that kept riding up and down the road and turning the throttle loudly. Negative contact was made.
911 dispatched officers to Center Street in reference to c/p stating that someone was posting messages on TikTok under her son’s name threatening to shoot up schools. Contact was made with the juvenile’s mother who advised the phone was lost or taken at school in November of 2025 and further advised that her son does not have a TikTok app on his Ipad. She also stated that her son would not have been able to spell some of the words that was sent in the messages.
Officer observed several vehicles at Magic Mall Monument and saw a male subject on the ground crying. The male subject’s mother was there, and officer spoke with the male subject who stated he was the driver of the vehicle and when he went to exit the park, something went wrong with the power steering, and he could not turn and struck the pine tree. Vehicle was towed.
Officer was dispatched to Stewart Rd. in reference to a 4-wheeler riding up and down the road turning the throttle loudly. Negative contact was made with a 4-wheeler.
Officer responded to W Moring St. in reference to a complaint regarding an elderly female being harassed by a young male. Complainant stated her apartment’s H&A went out around Valentine’s Day and was being repaired and one of the workers made uncomfortable comments to her. C/p stated late that night, the male subject returned to her apartment and knocked on both doors, but she did not answer and he eventually left. C/p advised she did not have any further contact with offender until today’s date when he knocked on her front door. C/p stated she was being visited by a friend and believed the person knocking was someone from her church, so she told them to come in. C/p stated when the door opened, it was offender and she immediately ordered him to leave and after a short pause, he did. Contact was made with offender, and he was instructed not to have any further contact with c/p and was issued a criminal trespass warning from the property.
Officer was dispatched to Peebles St. in reference to a 911 message. Contact was made with complainant who stated everything was ok, but his baby’s mama went to his residence asking for money.
Officer was dispatched to Citizens Bank in reference to caller advising three male subjects surrounded him at the ATM machine, possibly trying to get his PIN.
Officer was dispatched to Canterbury Ln. in reference to someone being at caller’s front door. Upon arrival, caller advised it was UPS delivering a package.
March 7
Officer was at EMC ER with a male subject who stated he was hit upside the head with a Stanley cup by his ex-girlfriend. Contact was made with the female’s mother who stated she told offender not to be at her residence anymore due to being there without permission.
Officer made a traffic stop on Industrial Way in reference to no valid insurance. Vehicle was towed.
Officer responded to Stephens Dr. in reference to a hit and run.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on Mable Ave. in reference to the driver being known to have a suspended license. Passenger’s license is also suspended so he was unable to take possession of the vehicle. Drier was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to Latitude 105 in reference to an argument and threats. Officers were met at the apartment door by a female known to SPD and she was asked to step outside. She stated she and her sister were having a conversation when her sister’s boyfriend interrupted and began yelling at her but was unable to provide any specific statements considered threatening. Officer spoke with the boyfriend who advised he did not threaten her and also spoke with the girls’ mother who stated she has previously advised officers that both her girls have mental health issues.
Officer was dispatched to Dawson St. in reference to a female that a neighbor heard scream.
Officers were dispatched to Zaxby’s in reference to multiple people arguing.
March 8
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant’s stated offenders had been threatening them but could not show proof.
Officer responded to Gumlog Rd. due to people fighting.
Officer was dispatched to Lee St. in reference to someone stealing a firearm. C/p stated he was on Lee St. and walked outside and two male subjects punched him in each side of his face and grabbed his pistol from his side. C/p stated one offender left his phone on top of the vehicle and he told them “you gonna steal my gun and leave your phone?’, and offender to him to give the phone to them or he was going to shoot him. C/p stated he gave the phone back and they started running away from the area.
Officer responded to West St. in reference to a male subject showing out. Officer previously spoke with offender a few nights prior and complainant stated they attempted to obtain a 10-13 but she missed the call while she was at work. Offender was transported to EMC ER.
Offender was arrested for DUI at Dellwood Connector and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to William Roundtree in reference to a female knocking on resident’s door asking for help. Caller stated a female rang her Ring doorbell which has a camera on it and stated there was a man she tried to run from and he had something of her and would not give it back. Caller advised a male then showed up and said “baby, come on or we’re gonna go to jail”. Officer had negative contact with the individuals.
Officers were dispatched to Lewis St. in reference to caller’s ex-boyfriend breaking her belongings. Complainant stated offender went to her residence and broke her TV, computer monitor and window. Contact was made with offender, and he was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officers were dispatched to W MLK Blvd. in reference to caller stating someone broke into her home and she wanted him gone. Complainant stated she needed offender out of her residence. Offender was advised that the property owner did not want him on the property and was given a courtesy ride to a motel.
Officer responded to S Main St. in reference to a male subject having suicidal thoughts. Officer made contact with the subject who advised he needed help due to having bad thoughts. EMS arrived and transported him to EMC ER.
Officer responded to Howarth Dr. in reference to a truck parked in the roadway. Owner was advised he could not park in the roadway and the vehicle needed to be pulled into the yard and was issued a warning and advised of the citation if it occurred again.
March 9
Officer was dispatched to Prosperity Dr. in reference to caller stating they heard someone in the yard. Caller advised he heard someone hollering but was unable to see the individual. Officers had negative contact with anyone.
Officer responded to N Main St. in reference to complainant stated her ex-partner posted a video of her on Facebook with no undergarments on.
Officer took a report about a stolen firearm. Complainant stated someone went inside his truck and took it.
Officer spoke with complainant who stated her work phone belonging to the Dept. of Supervision had been misplaced. She advised that her friend called it and someone answered it but told them to call back at 5 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to Empire Expressway in reference to a hit and run. Complainant stated her vehicle was struck by another vehicle and when she exited her vehicle, the other vehicle left the scene.
Officers responded to Jesus Saves Church in reference to an alarm call. Two female keyholders were inside setting up for a Bible Study.
Officer took a report where complainant stated the housing authority would not accept her money and she was in fear of dispossessory and additional charges and the amount they are requesting Is higher than what the lease agreement states.
Officer took a report from complainant in reference to card fraud. C/p stated she had three different transactions totaling $2,200 taken from her Chime card.
March 10
Officers were dispatched to Happiness Dr. in reference to a reported rape.
Officer took a report in reference to vehicle damage and needed a report to submit an insurance claim.
Officer responded to S Main St. in reference to an alarm call. Everything appeared to be intact.
Officers responded to Piggly Wiggly in reference to pills that had been dropped.
Officer took a report where complainant stated she filed a TPO against offender and he has been reaching out to her friend trying to get a message to her, texting her off of random numbers and posting on FB in regard to her.
Officers were dispatched to EMC ER in reference an Air Evac landing.
Officer responded to Prosperity Dr. in reference to a dispute. Complainant stated she wanted offender gone and not to return.
Officers were dispatched to Flanders St. in reference to complainant wanting to make a report about her cousin not paying her back the money she let him borrow. C/p was advised this is a civil matter.
Officer was dispatched to Prosperity Dr. in reference to a suicidal male. Male subject had left and was found at Enmarket. He stated he was not suicidal and had not intentions of harming himself.
March 11
Officer was dispatched to Industrial Way in reference to a 911 hang-up call.
Officer was dispatched to Enmarket in reference to a male and female arguing while the male was throwing the child around. Female subject denied the male subject putting his hands on her or the child. Male subject was asked to step to the patrol unit and started to resist. He was told multiple times to sit in the unit and he refused. When officers finally got him inside, he tried to exit the opposite side and fell out. He kept resisting and officer deployed his taser and they were able to get him inside the unit and transport him to EmCo Jail. Offender then started complaining of leg pain and leaning against the wall yelling. Offender then slides down the wall and started seizing. Officer called for EMS, but none were available. Once offender regained consciousness, he started back screaming and stated he had only drunk two shots. Officers struggled getting him back in the unit to take him to EMC ER. He failed to comply and was forcefully put in the unit by jailers. Offender was taken to EMC ER for hours until he was medically cleared. Officer tried to contact DFCS and had negative contact. Offender was transported back to EmCo Jail.
March 12
Officer was dispatched to Jerome St. in reference to an active dispute. Complainant stated his girlfriend’s grandson threw a chair down which led to a verbal argument. Offender agreed to leave the residence for the remainder of the day.
Detective received a report by an intake worker from EMC ER in reference to possible elder abuse at a Personal Care Home.
Chief and Detective received a call from Sumter Co. SO in reference to unknown offender stealing information of a Sumter Co. citizen and using it to purchase items in the amount of $4,000 and shipped to S Green St.
Officer was dispatched to WalMAr tin reference to a minor fender bender with offender leaving the scene.
