February 13
Officer was dispatched to N. Green St. in reference to caller’s door being kicked in.
Officer responded to O’Reilly’s in reference to an alarm.
Officer spoke with complainant who advised one of his cashiers cashed three checks for offender totaling $1,000 and all were returned insufficient. C/p stated they made contact with offender 10 days prior who stated she would be by to take care of them but has not. Deputy made contact with offender who stated she was going by to give them some money on it, but she could only pay $300 due to her being disabled, then stated she was sick and would not have the money until Friday. Offender was advised the case was being turned over to investigations.
Officer responded to E. Main St. in reference to an MVA and observed the vehicle in the ditch. Scene was turned over to GSP.
Officer was dispatched to S. Racetrack St. in reference to complainant requesting that his stepson and girlfriend be removed from the residence.
February 14
Officer’s tag reader alerted a vehicle with expired registration, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. It was also determined that the vehicle did not have valid insurance. Driver stated she knew her tag was expired but did not know about her insurance being invalid. Vehicle was towed and offender was cited.
Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a report of individuals fighting. Several vehicles were observed leaving the scene and officer made contact with complainant who stated she was hosting a family and friends gathering and she heard commotion outside. C/p stated she went to check and observed two individuals fighting and called 911. C/p advised that once it became known that law enforcement had been notified, involved individuals and attendees began leaving.
Officer observed a vehicle fail to maintain its lane, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. It was determined that offender had an active warrant out of Emanuel County and a hold was requested. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Swainsboro Fire Department requested officer on Lewis St. Complainant advised the tree on fire was set intentionally.
February 15
Officers responded to Prosperity Dr. in reference to a welfare check. Victim stated she was fine and had not been able to contact her son due to being unable to pay her phone bill.
Officers were dispatched to S. Circle Dr. in reference to a male subject sitting in a vehicle slumped over. Driver advised he works at the location and was leaned over on the phone leaned and was okay.
Officer responded to Hwy 56 N in reference to an alarm.
Officer was dispatched to New St. in reference to a 911 hang-up call. A large crowd was observed outside the residence and officer made contact with the caller who advised she contacted 911 regarding her child’s father.
Officer was dispatched to Youngblood St. in reference to a 911 pen line with no communication. Officer made contact with residents who advised everything was okay.
Officer responded to McLeod Bridge Rd. to assist with a medical call. Officer observed EMS providing medical assessment to victim who was unresponsive. Life-saving measures were assessed, and victim was pronounced deceased due to natural cause with no signs of foul play.
Officer responded to N. Main St. in reference to complainant stating he left some tools in the back bed of a coworker’s truck parked on Jerome St. and when he returned to get them, some were missing. Officer made contact with Tom’s Pawn and was told offender pawned the items. Officer made contact with offender on Jerome St. who stated c/p owed him money, so he took the tools and pawned them to get money for Valetine’s Day. Officer informed offender that he committed theft by pawing the tools and they had to be gotten out. Offender and officer went to Tom’s and retrieved pawned items. Officer was informed that a known male had the other tools and was not going to give those back until a job was completed. Items were returned to c/p.
Officer was dispatched to Rodeway Inn in reference to a welfare check on two juveniles staying with a 19-year-old. The juveniles mother stated she was aware of the situation.
February 17
Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a dispute. Complainant stated she would not allow offender to drive their vehicle because he don’t’ have a license and he attempted to strike her and grabbed her house keys and took off.
Officer was dispatched to Rodeway Inn in reference to a 911 hang-up call. Male subject stated it was accidental.
Officer was dispatched to Crump St. in reference to possible fraudulent activity. Complainant advised a resident received a letter from Social Security regarding a disability filing. The letter stated c/p earned $194,987 during 2024 from Bulk Carriers and c/p advised she has never worked there.
Officer responded to Thompson’s Mini Mart in reference to a theft complaint. A 14-year-old was detained by store staff for stealing vape products valued at $626.48. Juvenile’s mother was notified that her son was being detained and transported to SPD. All merchandise was recovered and returned to the owner of Thompson’s. Officer at DJJ was contacted regarding the charge of burglary in the 2nd degree and juvenile was issued a criminal trespass warning prohibiting him from returning to the premises.
February 18
Officer conducted a traffic stop on W. Church St. for illegal tint. Driver stated he did not have his license on him and gave his info to officer. Upon running his info, it was determined that he had suspended license for three different failure to appears. Officer informed offender of the findings and he stated he just went to court and knew his license was suspended. A female arrived to take possession of the vehicle and officer asked her for her license and she stated she did not have them on her. Officer asked for her info, and she became irate and stated that the officer could follow her to the store up the road, and she was advised that he would not do that. She then stated she would leave the vehicle there and was informed that it would be towed, so she stated to tow it. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer observed a vehicle with no working brake lights, at which time he conducted a traffic stop. Driver presented a GA ID card and stated he had a valid DL. Officer ran his info to find that his license is suspended since 2023. Officer was informed that offender had an active bench warrant through city court and was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to Center St. in reference to a 911 hang-up call in which a female could be heard crying. Officer approached the door and could hear the female crying and knocked. He then heard the crying getting closer to the door at which time it opened. Victim stated her boyfriend/offender grabbed her wig, threw her on the ground, got on top of her and began choking her with both hands, then struck her twice in the back of the head and on the right side of her face. Officer observed marks on victim consistent to her story and requested EMS. Warrants will be taken out on offender.
Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Rd. in reference to complainant wanting to make a report regarding her child’s father harassing her through text messages.
February 19
Officer served a bench warrant on offender on McLeod Bridge Rd. and transported him to EmCo Jail.
Officers responded to Allen St. in reference to loud music.
Officer placed offender under arrest at JAG Probation Office for revoked probation and transported him to EmCo Jail.
Offender was transported to EmCo Jail in reference to probation revocation.
Officer responded to S. Main St. in reference to an alarm.
Officer responded to Harmon Park due to a child screaming. Officer was advised the child was playing in the water having fun.
Offender was transported to EmCo Jail in reference to probation revocation.
Officer was contacted by 911 in reference to a wanted person. Richmond Co. SO was out with offender who had active warrants through SPD. A hold was placed on offender.
