Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

October 30

Officer responded to N. Main St. in reference to a broke down vehicle. The driver, his wife and their 8-month-old child were out of gas, and another officer went to get gas for them. During this time, officer ran the driver’s license to find it is suspended, and he had an active probation warrant out of Jenkins Co. with bordering county extradition. Officer arrived back with the gas and made sure the vehicle would start, then informed offender of the warrant and he stated he had just met with his probation officer the day prior and did not believe the warrant was accurate. Officer attempted to contact offender’s PO but was unsuccessful, so he contacted Jenkins Co. SO and was informed that the warrant was active and they wanted a hold placed on offender. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

November 1

Officers were dispatched to W. Church St. in reference to a domestic. Officer could hear screaming from the apartment, but no one would open the door. Officer could hear a female yelling “Please, please, open the door” and a male voice could be heard as well but was unable to understand him. Officer busted a glass on the door and the male subject yelled that there were children inside, so officer gave verbal command to another officer to open another door entrance. Officers were able to enter the residence through a door. Victim was holding a toddler while crying out for her other child who was in the bedroom with tears in her eyes. Victim stated she and her children were asleep when offender got home drunk and was yelling and beating on the door. Victim stated she was scared and told offender to leave so they wouldn’t fight due to him being intoxicated and he would not leave so she opened the door, and he stated being very aggressive and grabbed her around the neck and chest area and pushed her around while stating he was going to kill her. Long screws were seen at the door screwed in and victim stated offender did it just prior to their arrival to keep the door shut. Victim stated offender then locked the children in the bedroom and she grabbed a hammer to break in to get them. Victim showed officers previous marks and injuries from offender in the past. Victim stated multiple times that she was scared of offender getting out of jail and killing her due to him threatening to kill her in the past. Victim stated she has both family or friends nearby to help her. Officers previously responded to a dispute between the two and victim left to move in with friends two hours away. Victim’s 5-year-old daughter stated she was asleep and woke up when she heard the screaming and banging and that her father is always mean to her mom. Victim made calls to The Refuge and stated she would get all her belongings and try to find a ride to The Refuge Center the next day. The TPO process was explained to victim for her and her children’s safety. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to the area of Kite Rd. and the cemetery in reference to caller stating children were walking around the golf course area and a car chased them and scared them.

Officer was dispatched to Brown St. in reference to a male subject complaining that another male subject hit him on the head with a bottle. Complainant stated offender struck him several times on the back of the head with a bottle, resulting in him passing out and having several lacerations. Officers went to the location where the incident occurred and observed a glass bottle on the porch with blood on it, but they were unable to make contact with suspect.

November 2

Officer was dispatched in reference to an individual in the parking lot asking people to call the police. The female subject stated a male subject went up to her car and accused her of following him. The male subject advised he thought people were following him and he would wait for someone to get him.

Officer responded to S. Racetrack St. in reference to a noise complaint.

Officer ran a tag on N. Coleman St. to find the registered owner was wanted out of Fort Valley, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The driver was the wanted subject and officer ordered him to exit the vehicle. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Officer was dispatched to S. Main St. in reference to complainant stating she was being followed. C/p advised the driver was throwing his hands up yelling at her while following her closely.

Officers responded to EMC for two teenage females that were taken in highly intoxicated.

November 3

Officer responded to Allen St. in reference to a dispute.

Officer was dispatched to EMC ER in reference to a dog bite that happened at Sunoco. Officer went to Sunoco to speak with the owner of the dog, and he stated his dog had all his shot records.

Officer was dispatched to Liberty St. in reference to a fight. Complainant stated her stepson/offender and his girlfriend visited her and her husband and she made a comment pertaining to an incident that occurred several years ago, and offender became very irate using profane language toward her. C/p stated her husband intervened after offender threatened to strike his stepmother. Both individuals had left the scene, and officer was advised that offender’s girlfriend was driving due to offender being intoxicated.

November 4

Officers responded to the area of Church St. in reference to shots being fired.

Complainant reported that he lost his wallet in Atlanta containing his debit card.

Officers responded to Lucky St. in reference to gunshots. Officer observed several individuals standing in the yard and one witness stated she did not see anything but heard multiple gunshots, more than 10, and immediately took cover on the ground. Officer observed several shell casings on the ground and spoke with another witness who stated he saw a vehicle leaving the area around the time the gunshots were fired. A total of 14 10mm casings and 11 9mm casings were recovered.

November 5

Officers were dispatched to Industrial Way in reference to a dispute.

Officer was dispatched to S. Main St. in reference to stolen property. Complainant stated an unknown subject stole multiple pieces of copper wiring from four HVAC units and several pieces of metal were missing from a room located behind the building.

Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to an individual requesting an officer’s presence. Complainant stated someone tried to hit him with their car. Video footage did in fact show offender drive towards c/p at a high rate of speed and almost strike him.

November 6

Officers responded to New St. in reference to a fight. Complainant stated they were having a kid’s birthday party and some of the adults started drinking and got loud so he told them to leave.

Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated she received a letter stating she was to appear in a federal grand jury. C/p was advised she had two warrants for her arrest and she needed to pay $1,500 a piece not to go to jail. Offender accepted $200 from c/p in lieu of the other fines.

Officers were dispatched to Brown St. in reference to shots fired.

Officer was dispatched to Soloman St. in reference to an unwanted person. Complainant stated offender had been at her property demanding money on behalf of her father for a job they had not completed. C/p stated offender then began to use profane language and would not leave.

Officer responded to Grady St. in reference to complainant stating someone was using his info.

Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated a juvenile has been forcing his way into the residence on E. Pine St. and stealing food.

Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated she is being harassed by three individuals.

Officer responded to Pinetucky in reference to a report of juveniles damaging property. Complainant stated several juveniles had been throwing rocks onto the roof of his business and in the parking lot from a business next door, and this has been an ongoing issue. Officer observed appx. 10 children outside and observed numerous rocks on the roof covering nearly the entire side of the roof. Officer made contact with the owner of the business, and she stated she was aware of the children throwing rocks but did not know how to make them stop. She advised she runs an after-school program and that most of the children are difficult to manage and she has tried to stop the behavior but has been unsuccessful. Officer advised her that she and her business could be held liable for any property damage and could be cited for failure to supervise the juveniles. She was also instructed that a responsible adult must supervise the children at all times and if they children could not refrain from throwing rocks, they were to remain inside the facility.

Officers were dispatched to WalMart in reference to a forged prescription of 90 Alprazolams.

Officer responded to WalMart in reference to three female college students stating another female told them she had a gun. The adult woman stated the three students were staring her up and down while snickering and she told them she was a grown woman and did not have time to be messing with kids. She advised a WalMart employee told her the students had been messing with people all over the store. Officer asked her if she mentioned having a gun to the students and she denied the accusation.

Officer was dispatched to Koiya in reference to a domestic. Complainant stated offender punched her in the mouth then dropped her off at Burger King.

Officer responded to Happiness Dr. in referenced to subject having thoughts of self-harm. The subject advised she needed help and emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and transported her to EMC ER.
