Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

October 16

Officer responded to Electric Drive in reference to a dispute between the shop owner and a customer. C/p stated that he had previously performed mechanical work on a customer’s vehicle. Later, the customer contacted him and stated that the vehicle began having issues after he left the shop. He further stated that the current issue appears to be a new mechanical problem unrelated to the previous repair.

Officers were dispatched to Shepard Drive about a refrigerator that was stolen. After speaking with all parties involved, it was determined that nothing was stolen. The property had been placed outside and was simply moved.

Officers responded to Prosperity Drive to assisted Emanuel County EMS in reference to a deceased male. Officers stood by until EMS instructed them to leave.

Offender was pulled over for no insurance. It was discovered the driver’s license was also suspended. Citations were issued.

Officer was assisting a disabled vehicle on Kite Road and heard a gunshot east of their location. Upon arriving to the scene believed to be the location of the gunshot, residents confirmed it occurred on Lee Street.

October 17

Officer took a walk in report at SPD in reference to a lost license plate. C/p stated that he just noticed his tag missing and believed it had fallen off.

Officer responded to the Roadway Inn in reference to a welfare check on a female subject. The request was made by her boyfriend who reported he had not heard from her. The woman was located and stated that she was okay, she just did not wish to speak with her boyfriend at that time.

Officer was dispatched to Burger King in reference to reported vehicle damage. C/p stated that while driving she heard a loud pop and then noticed that her windshield had shattered. The exact cause was undetermined.

Officer responded to Pughsley Street in reference to a reported stolen cell phone. C/p stated that her daughter had taken a cell phone from her son.

Officer was dispatched to Pratt Avenue in reference to a noise complaint. The individuals were advised to turn their music down. They advised that they were leaving the area shortly.

October 18

Officer responded to an activated alarm on Mary Ann Street. No signs of forced entry were found.

911 dispatched officer to West Moring Street in reference to stolen property. C/p stated that she ha picked up a friend of hers to take her grocery shopping. After they got done shopping, she returned home and noticed her handbag was no longer in the vehicle.

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to a 911 hang up call. At first, there was negative contact with anyone but a short time later, officers received a notice that the individual had called back from another room. The individual appeared to be acting odd and had dilated eyes. He stated that he was hearing voices coming from the bathroom and outside. He was advised to go to bed and rest.

Officer was dispatched to Nassau Street in reference to an alarm call. Officers were advised that someone could possibly be breaking into the residence. No one was located, but complainant advised that earlier there were three male subjects walking down her road and that she got into an argument with one that had kicked a dog.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no tag lights and was failing to maintain lane. The driver was also found to have a suspended license. Offender was arrested.

Officer responded to Williams Street in reference to a 911 hang up call. A female subject appeared to be visibly agitated upon arrival. She alleged that she had been struck in the face by an individual, but there were no signs of injury on her face. All witnesses said that no one had hit the woman, but she had been yelling and throwing things. the woman was arrested for disorderly conduct.

October 19

Officer was dispatched to Freedom Street in reference to a report of an aggressive juvenile possibly armed with a knife. The juvenile was located and unarmed but was resistant towards officers. C/p stated that his biological son and his stepson, the offender, engaged in a verbal and physical altercation. The offender armed himself with a pair of scissors, but c/p was able to disarm him shortly before he fled the scene. The offender was released into the custody of another family member.

911 dispatched officer to Crump Street in reference to a female resident having suicidal thoughts. When she was asked if she wanted to hurt herself, she replied with “not really”. She stated that she did want to go with EMS to be evaluated.

Officers were dispatched to Gumlog Road in reference to shots fired. C/p stated that the shooter and the people in the vehicle were Crip members, and they shattered her glass door. Another witness stated that when the shooting happened, he ran into the woods and was unaware at what they were shooting at.

Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to an individual who was having a mental crisis. The subject had already left the scene and when attempting to locate him no contact was made.

Officer was on Kite Road to assist with a helicopter landing.

Officer was dispatched to West Main Street in reference to a female subject acting out and damaging property. Upon arrival, officer observed the woman running from the residence and was later stopped. She was physically resistant but was detained. Jail staff would not take the woman in until she was medically and mentally cleared. The charges were later dropped, and the woman was left with jail staff.

Officer was dispatched to Emanuel Medical Center in reference to a female patient stating that she got into a fight and been hit in the head. She stated that a woman she had issues within the past was making rude remarks about her child, and they started to fight. The other woman stated that she was talking to the father of c/p’s child, and the woman attacked her.

Officer was dispatched to William Rountree Street in reference to shots fired. C/p advised that the bullet entered through a bedroom window of the residence. No one in the residence had been hit.

October 20

Officer was at Emanuel Medical Center when a nurse came out and said that a patient was being very disruptive. They were advised that the individual had a notice written out for her to be taken to a mental health facility and was using profanity and being aggressive. Offender was arrested.

Offender was arrested for two active warrants.

Officer was flagged down by c/p who stated that the offender has been coming to his residence and banging on the door, demanding to speak with him. He stated that he wants the offender to stop.

Officers responded to Abundance Street in reference to a burglary in progress. No one was observed at the residence.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no seatbelt. The driver appeared to be nervous, and other units along with a K9 were requested. Upon searching, three pills were located that were a schedule II controlled substance. Offender was arrested.

C/p came into SPD to report the theft of his bicycle.

Officers were dispatched to Mary Ann Street in reference to a report. C/p stated that his nurse failed to leave him any food. He stated that she would occasionally leave him food but would come back and eat it.

Officer responded to West Pine Street in reference to an unwanted person. The subject had been kicked out of the rehab center that morning and returned highly intoxicated. He was transported to Emanuel Medical Center for a mental evaluation. While walking towards the patrol vehicle, the man started punching a wooden column, breaking his hand.

October 21

Officer responded to North Racetrack Street in reference to male subjects wearing all black with guns. No one was located upon arrival.

Officers were dispatched to South Main Street in preference to a male being followed. The man advised that he didn’t want a report, he just wanted to be safe.

Officer was dispatched to Alice Circle in reference to a tow truck repossessing a vehicle, and that towing was not allowed on the property per the hotel owner. The tow truck driver provided the repossession order and was allowed to leave the premises with the vehicle.

Officer responded to Emanuel Peanut and Grain regarding a damage to property report. C/p stated that she was driving behind a tractor-trailer carrying a load of peanuts when a peanut flew out and struck her windshield, cracking it.

Officer responded to North Racetrack Street in reference to a male who had been bitten by a dog. C/p stated that the dog entered his property and became aggressive when his personal dog came outside.

Officer responded to Project Street in reference to c/p wanting to get some personal belongings. The homeowner stated that c/p did not have and property at her house.

Officer responded to Mason Drive in reference to dogs trying to attack a cat.

Officer responded to South Main Street in reference to a panic alarm. The store seemed to be in normal operation, but the store clerk stated that her hip must have hit the panic button on accident.

Officer responded to West Moring Street in reference to a package being delivered that was not supposed to be. C/p stated that FedEx dropped off a package to his residence that was not his.

Officer responded to West Moring Street in reference to an entering auto incident. The victim stated that her handgun was stolen from her vehicle.

Officer was dispatched to North Racetrack Street in reference to a dispute that had already occurred. C/p stated that she had parked her vehicle in her regular spot and proceeeded to move it closer to her back door to unload laundry. She stated that the offender pulled up and started arguing with her.

Officer was dispatched to East Main Street in reference to a general alarm. No signs of entry were located.

Officers responded to McLeod Bridge Road in reference to a dispute between three females. All parties were separated.

October 22

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle failing to maintain lane. The offender was found to have a suspended license and was arrested.

Officer responded to West Main Street in reference to a possible fight. All parties were separated.

Officers responded to Gumlog Road in reference to a domestic in progress. All parties were separated.

October 23

Offender was arrested for an active warrant.

Officers responded to East Pine Street in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, arguing was heard from inside the residence and a man answered the door. After falsely identifying himself, he was arrested.

Officer took a walk-in report at SPD for possible theft by deception. C/p stated that she and another woman agreed to split the expenses to go on a cruise together and the woman volunteered to handle the payment. She requested $847 dollars from c/p and c/p later found out a cruise was never booked. No refund was ever issued.

Officer responded to Herrington Street in reference to a reported TPO violation. Offender was arrested.

Officer was dispatched to South Racetrack Street in reference to someone tampering with a water meter. C/p stated that the tenant at the residence had cut the meter to prevent a lock from being placed on it.

Officer was dispatched to Lewis Street in reference to a domestic violence in progress. Offender was arrested.

Officer was patrolling West MLK and Gumlog Road due to increase of shots fired over the past month. A subject that had been trespassed from the location was seen on property and warrants were taken out.
