According to the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office…

April 20

Deputies were dispatched to Mt. Shady Church Rd. in reference to a call of a crash detection. Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle, but the driver was gone. Deputy made contact with a vehicle down the road and spoke with the mother who had picked her son/driver up. He had a large laceration on his forehead and other medical complaints. EMS checked him and he went by private vehicle to EMC. Vehicle was towed.

Complainant stated offender had been causing a scene trying to make contact with his wife in a rehab program and had been told multiple times to stay away. Offender showed up insisting to see his wife, but she did not want to see him. Offender was issued a trespass warning from three locations.

April 21

Deputy wrote two local ordinance citations for dumpster diving.

April 22

Victim stated his tag was lost.

April 23

Victim stated he bought a new vehicle from a dealership, and he never received his tag.

Deputy met with complainant on W 5th Ave. in reference to catalytic converters being taken off of three vehicles.

Deputy observed a vehicle at Mt. Shady Church Rd. dumpsite via camera feed with two male subjects actively sifting through the dumpsters. Deputy made contact with offenders and they provided their info. One offender had suspended license and active warrants through Tattnall County with a hold placed. A search of the vehicle was done to find shards of meth. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Victim stated he noticed his checkbook was missing from his truck and the suspect is supposedly homeless and has been hanging out in the woods behind c/p’s house.

April 26

Deputy observed a vehicle at Old Kenfield Rd. dumpsite and a male subject sifting through the dumpsters. Deputy made contact with the vehicle as it was leaving and initiated a traffic stop and asked the driver for his license at which he stated it is suspended for a super speeder offense. Upon running his info, it was determined that offender had an active warrant through Aiken County, SC. Upon a search of the vehicle, meth and MDMA was found. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
