September 29

Deputy was dispatched to Superior Probation in reference to a wanted person. Deputy made contact with offender, and he was informed he had warrants and was transported to EmCo Jail.

Deputy was assisting another deputy with an arrest on Williams St. and was informed that a wanted person was in the area. Deputy went around the corner and observed offender and made contact with him. Deputy informed him that he had a warrant and was transported to EmCo Jail.

Deputy observed a vehicle fail to dim its headlights, at which time he attempted to initiate a traffic stop on GA46 East. The vehicle was observed coming off of Long Bay Dr., a known drug area where numerous drug arrests have been made. The driver failed to stop, and deputy moved into the center of the road behind the motorist and observed the driver looking at him in the driver side mirror, then began to motion for him to pass him. Deputy continued to stay behind the vehicle, at which point the driver began to speed up but never passed 45 MPH, and continued to fail to stop. OPPD deputy joined the chase, and the driver began to slow down, at which point he was boxed in. Once offender stopped, deputy exited his vehicle and drew his firearm, ordering driver to show his hands, but did not until numerous commands were given. Deputy then ordered him out of the vehicle, but he would not open the door. OPPD Deputy opened the door and obtained control of the driver and ordered him out of the vehicle. Driver was resistant and continued to ask what he did and would not remove his seatbelt. Deputy reached into the vehicle and removed the seatbelt, at which point the driver was removed. Deputies began to attempt to place the driver into handcuffs and he continuously pulled away and tried to spin around towards deputies, at which point he was pushed against his vehicle. Offender still refused to cooperate and after a brief struggle, he was detained. Driver continued to ask what he did after being told multiple times, then advised he did not speak English after speaking English when asking what he did. While enroute to EmCo Jail, offender asked where his phone was. Driver was found to not have a valid driver license.

September 30

Deputy met with victim who stated her social security check has been cut due to fraudulent activity. She stated she received a letter stating since she received $90,000 last year, her ss check would be cut due to paying the fraudulent amount back. Victim advised she spoke with someone at the SS office and was told that someone that works for Claxton Cement had been using her ss number. Victim stated she called Claxton PD and was advised she needed to make a report here then call CPD back.

Deputy observed a vehicle with a non-working headlight, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, deputy observed the backseat passenger would not make eye contact with him and was scrolling through misc apps on his tablet. Deputy asked the driver and passengers if anyone was on probation or parole and the backseat passenger stated he was out on bond. Deputy returned tohis unit and asked for K9 handler to his location. Once he arrived, deputy ran the driver and vehicle through GCIC and was notified that the vehicle had suspended registration. Deputy asked the driver to step out and asked him about the suspended registration, at which time he denied knowing it was suspended. While issuing warnings to the driver, K9 handler conducted a free air sniff and received a positive indication of illegal drugs. A small bag containing meth and a glass pipe were found. All occupants were detained and the driver advised he was the owner of the illegal drugs. Driver was found to have an active warrant through Toombs Co. and transported to EmCo Jail. Other occupants were released.

Deputy was informed of a vehicle with no operational taillights a possible drunk driver on Hwy 46 East. Deputy made contact with the vehicle and observed a male standing outside with the driver door. Deputy made contact with the driver and could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and asked if he had been driving and he stated he had. Deputy then asked how much he had to drink, and he stated he had not drunk anything. Deputy observed the driver’s eyes to be bloodshot and glassy and was swaying and holding on the vehicle door. Deputy asked the driver to provide a breath sample, and he agreed. Offender was given several chances to provide a breath sample to which he failed to do so correctly. Offender was then placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail.

October 1

Deputy made a traffic stop in Waffle King parking lot and approached the driver. Upon asking for consent to search, driver stated no. Investigator was requested by deputy for an open-air sniff on the vehicle. Deputy asked all occupants to exit the vehicle and the driver was moving around a lot and kept trying to grab stuff, then dropped something in the floorboard and reached down to grab it. K9 was deployed and gave a change in behavior at the driver door. A hypodermic needle was found under the driver seat with a liquid in it that tested positive for meth. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Deputy met with complainant on New Hope Church Rd. in reference to harassment. C/p stated offender drove past the residence multiple times speeding and spinning wheels and at one point, pulled over just past the residence and fired off five shots into a nearby field. C/p also stated offender sent harassing messages which are described as implied threats.

October 2

Deputies were dispatched to Dellwood Main St. in reference to a vehicle that hit a light pole and left the scene. Deputy observed the described vehicle quickly turn around in the parking lot of the store and appeared as though it was quickly accelerating away from the deputy, at which deputy turned around and observed the truck pull into a covered shelter and flee into a nearby residence. Deputies made entry into the residence and took offender into custody, at which time offender was pretending to be asleep in his bed. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Deputies were dispatched to Blackberry Rd. in reference to a dispute between suspect and complainant’s father.

Deputies responded to Modoc Rd. in reference to stalking. Complainant stated he was sitting his in truck at Kwik Shop when offender parked close to the diesel pumps. C/p stated as he looked up, offender was sitting behind him blocking him in with his window down giving him a grin kinda mixed with anger and hate. C/p stated he wakes up having nightmares covered in sweat thinking someone is shooting him. C/p stated he is to the point that he is scared to go anywhere in public due to offender stalking him and his family.

Deputy met with complainant on Modoc Rd. in reference to an incident that occurred on Fairground Rd. near the dumpsters. C/p stated she was leaving the dumpsters and was leaving when she met alleged offender and gave c/p an intimidating/maniacal look.

Victim stated he was waiting in the parking lot to see Judge Reeves when offender went through the parking lot staring at him out the window. C/p stated he has been having a problem with offender for some time and has been stalking him.

Deputy met with complainant who stated he took his tag off to restore it and now he can’t find it.

Complainant stated her husband laid her tag on top of her vehicle and forgot it and she is unaware of where it is.

Deputy was notified of a stolen truck from SHS and made contact with the owner. Flock camera observed the truck leaving US 1 and Stallion Rd. then on N. Main St. and Old US 1 in Wadley. Deputy made contact with a Jefferson County deputy in Wadley and informed him of the bolo on the truck which he passed on to Louisville PD. The truck was located by Jefferson County deputy where the occupants fled on foot.

October 4

Complainant stated he was traveling on Hwy 80 East when he hit a deer. Vehicle was removed by a towing company.

October 5

Complainant stated she was traveling on Hwy 57 East when she hit a deer. Vehicle was drivable.

Deputies were dispatched to Buckeye Rd. in reference to an altercation. Victim advised his son/offender went in his room and took a beer and when he was confronted about it, they got into a verbal argument and offender pushed victim. Offender and victim argue on a regular basis and offender was arrested and transported to EmCo Jail.
