Ruby Mae Gardner, age 79, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, October 17, at 11 a.m. at Mosley’s Funeral Home.
Ruby was born May 5, 1947, in Dupoint, to the late Samuel “SJ” Gardner and Rosalee Gardner. She was raised with strong values, deep faith and a love for her family. Ruby was a fighter, surviving all odds against her and she stayed strong enough to keep pushing and never gave up. She was a loving mother, cherished grandmother, faithful friend and servant leader. Her life was a testimony of grace in action, compassion in motion and love without conditions. Ruby had a gift for making everyone feel seen, valued and loved. Mrs. Gardner is preceded in death by her parents; extended son, Steven Gardner; and seven siblings.
Mrs. Gardner leaves to cherish her memories with her children, Suprina Gardner, Sherice Watkins (Gregory), Terra Gardner, Farrow Miller, Marice (Jamie) Gardner, Salene Wesley (Cornelius), Timothy Gardner and Heather Gardner; Denise Madden and Danielle Gardner; 16 grandchildren; four extended grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
