Homecoming will be observed on Sunday morning, Nov. 1, at Oak Chapel Baptist Church near Kite. There will be no Sunday School that morning, but the program will begin at 10:30.
Kicking off the Homecoming will be Just Three, a Southern Baptist trio from South Carolina. The group consists of Mike Bolen of Holly Hill, Tiffany Shealy of Leesville, and Chip MCaa from Lugoff, SC. The name of their group came about when an old-timer pulled three nails from his pants pocket and told them, “Just three of these made a way to fix the whole world.”
Special guest speaker will be Josh Black, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Swainsboro, where he has served for 10 years. He has also served as pastor of Summertown Baptist Church, and he was the Associational Missionary for a while at the Mt. Vernon Association. Josh and his wife, Jessica, are the parents of Josie Grace, Maggie and Case. He also owns and operates Pro Parts Place in Swainsboro.
Everyone is invited to this special service, according to Pastor Tommy Henry. A covered dish luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
