The Veterans at the Library are holding a dedication ceremony for the New Veterans Wall at the Veterans and 1st Responders Memorial Park on Saturday, November 7, at 11 a.m. As part of the ceremony, the new large 6' X 10' X 10" granite wall with 144 veterans’ names, alive and deceased, that served their country and were placed there by family members will be dedicated. A second wall has been ordered, and applications are now being accepted for that wall. During the ceremony a Bell owned by Veteran Jim McCarty will be tolled and the Brier Creek Artillery Georgia Society, Sons of the American Revolution will be present to fire their cannons. As soon as the Wall Dedication is completed, the Wiregrass Chapter SAR will dedicate a "Liberty Tree Monument" placed at the Liberty Tree and fire their cannons. Veterans at the Library encourage all veterans and Sons of the American Revolution to attend this historic event.
