The Twin City Lions Club recently held their monthly lunch meeting at Simply Southern Restaurant in Twin City.
Members and guests enjoyed the delicious southern buffet and met in the restaurant’s meeting room in the rear of the building.
Lion Matt Donaldson invited Wade Johnson who was representing Children First, a local organization advocating to the community about the benefits of ESPLOST. Mr. Johnson invited Assistant Superintendent Jansen Ware to inform the members of what Emanuel County Schools were able to accomplish with ESPLOST VI and to inform what the ESPLOST funds can and cannot be used for within the school system. The recent renovations to the Swainsboro Athletic Complex and the new field house at ECI are some recent examples of what ESPLOST has done in the county. The funds allowed for facility and athletic improvements, safety, security, and purchased buses. ESPLOST VII is on the ballot in November.
The Club thanks Mr. Johnson and Mr. Ware for attending the meeting.
