The Swainsboro Tigers capped a week of homecoming festivities with a 21–15 comeback victory over the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons Friday night at Tiger Field.

The celebration began before kickoff with the Tiger Trail Homecoming Parade, followed by a pep rally at the school. Classes also gathered outside in the parking lot for parties, bringing students together to celebrate homecoming and show their Tiger pride.

That excitement carried into Friday night’s Region 2-AA matchup, where the Tigers gave the home crowd even more reason to celebrate. Trailing 12–7 in the fourth quarter, Swainsboro rallied to secure the victory and snap a two-game losing streak. The win improved the Tigers to 3–5 overall and 2–2 in region play.

Swainsboro finished with 249 yards of offense, including 144 passing yards and 105 rushing yards. Marco Danford contributed 84 receiving yards and added 40 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Kyle Johnson and Shannon Benjamin were recognized as Swainsboro’s players of the game.

Coming off their bye week, the Tigers found a way to finish in front of their home crowd and pick up a region win as the regular season enters its final stretch.

Swainsboro will look to carry that momentum on the road Friday, October 30, when the Tigers travel to Eastman to face Dodge County. The Indians enter the matchup at 4–4 overall and 2–2 in region play after a 53–47 loss to Dublin.

With both teams sitting at 2–2 in the region, another big opportunity awaits the Tigers. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

Tiger Nation, it’s time to hit the road! Pack the stands in Eastman, bring the black and gold, and let the Tigers hear you as they fight for another region victory.
