As the curtain closes on another basketball season, several members of the Swainsboro Tigers boys basketball team have been recognized for their performances on the court with postseason All-Region honors. The selections are voted on by coaches throughout the region and highlight the players who consistently stood out against some of the top competition during the season.

Leading the honors for Swainsboro were L.J. Morgan and Frankie Barnes, who were both selected to the All-Region First Team. The duo played key roles for the Tigers throughout the year, providing leadership, scoring, and a steady presence during some of the team’s biggest moments.

Two more Tigers were recognized on the All-Region Second Team, as Shannon Benjamin and Jabius Smith earned the distinction after strong seasons that saw them make major contributions on both ends of the floor.

Swainsboro also had three players receive Honorable Mention All-Region honors. C. Foots, R.J. Johnson, and Keenan Kelly were recognized for their efforts and impact during the season, helping the Tigers remain competitive throughout the year.

Tigers head coach Brice Hobbs said the recognition reflects the effort and commitment his players showed all season long.

“I’m proud of every one of these young men,” Hobbs said. “These honors come from the coaches in our region, so it shows the level of respect our guys earned with the way they competed all year.”

Hobbs also emphasized that the awards represent more than individual accomplishments.

“L.J. and Frankie had outstanding seasons and deserved to be First Team selections, but Shannon, Jabius, Foots, R.J., and Keenan all played important roles for us as well,” Hobbs said. “Those guys put in the work every day and helped build the identity of our team.”

With multiple Tigers receiving postseason recognition, the program once again showed the depth and talent within its roster and the continued development of players representing Swainsboro basketball.
