The annual Pine Tree Festival tennis tournament was held April 24 and 25 on the courts at Georgia Southern University - East Georgia Campus with 46 entries in seven different divisions. The tournament was a big success with entries from Wrightsville, Tennille, Statesboro, Dublin, Smyrna, Lawrenceville and Savannah, as well as many locals from Emanuel County. There was great action from experienced players along with much excitement in watching so many very young players from middle school. Eleven players entered girl’s and boy’s 13 and under singles division, which is probably the most ever for that age group.
Much appreciation to the college staff for allowing us to host on their beautiful campus and for all the assistance they offered to players and patrons.
