On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Swainsboro High School Lady Tigers Basketball and Flag Football teams gathered at Brown Chapel to honor the late Mrs. Patricia Dukes by participating in a special tradition. Mrs. Dukes, who supported the Lady Tigers' basketball program for years, started the service project to connect athletes with the community.
In partnership with the church, the student-athletes spent the morning preparing and serving meals that were delivered to elderly residents across the community. The event not only provided a vital service but also reflected the spirit of teamwork and giving back that Mrs. Dukes championed throughout her life.
Among the volunteers was newly crowned Homecoming Queen Kylie Brown, who joined her teammates in serving meals just hours after receiving the honor.
School officials and coaches praised the student-athletes for continuing Mrs. Dukes’ legacy and demonstrating leadership, compassion, and service beyond the court and field.
