With the 2025–2026 basketball season now officially in the books, several members of the Swainsboro Lady Tigers basketball team have been recognized for their outstanding performances throughout the year. The postseason honors were voted on by coaches across the region and highlight the players who made the greatest impact on the court during the season.
Leading the way for Swainsboro is K.K. Murphy, who was named Region Player of the Year, a prestigious honor awarded to the top player in the region. Murphy’s leadership, scoring ability, and competitive drive helped anchor the Lady Tigers throughout the season and made her a constant challenge for opposing teams.
Swainsboro also placed two players on the All-Region First Team, as Kimiya Freeman and McKinley Walden earned recognition for their consistent play and key contributions. Both players played major roles in the Lady Tigers’ success this season, showcasing their talent on both ends of the floor.
Two additional Lady Tigers were named to the All-Region Second Team, with Kali Brown and Lay Freeman receiving the honor. Their efforts throughout the season provided depth, energy, and critical moments for the team during key matchups.
Rounding out the list of honors, Millie Kingsberry earned Honorable Mention All-Region, recognizing her hard work and contributions during the season.
Lady Tigers head coach Alexandria Walden expressed pride in the recognition her players received and what it represents for the program.
“These honors mean a lot because they come from the coaches in our region who see these girls compete night after night,” Walden said. “K.K. had an incredible season and truly earned Player of the Year, but I’m just as proud of Kimiya, McKinley, Kali, Lay, and Millie. Each one of them played a big role in what we were able to accomplish this year.”
Walden also emphasized that the awards reflect the team’s collective effort throughout the season.
“Our girls work extremely hard and they represent Swainsboro the right way,” she said. “These honors show the respect our program has earned around the region, and I’m excited about the future for these young ladies.”
With multiple players receiving recognition across the region, the Lady Tigers once again proved that their program continues to develop some of the top talent in the area.
