David Emanuel Varsity Lady Eagles won big over Crisp Academy Varsity Wildcats 10-1 on Saturday, August 15 at 531 Van Davis Rd.
Crisp Academy Varsity Wildcats were the first to get on the board in the first when Caitlyn Hinnant singled, scoring one run.
The Lady Eagles captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first when Rayleigh Faircloth tripled, scoring two runs, and Bailey McNure grounded out, scoring one run.
Lady Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Kaley Flowers singled down the right field line, Payton Peebles singled down the left field line, Crisp Academy Varsity Wildcats committed an error, and McNure flew out, each scoring one run.
Sydney Lively earned the win for the Lady Eagles. The right-handed pitcher gave up eight hits and one run over five innings, striking out one and walking one. Brynlee Gravitt took the loss for the Wildcats. The starting pitcher went four innings, giving up 10 runs (two earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking none.
McNure and Faircloth were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for DEA. Peebles led the Lady Eagles with two hits in three at bats. Faircloth stole three bases. The Lady Eagles stole five bases in the game and turned one double play. The LadyEagles didn't commit a single error in the field. Peebles had the most chances in the field with seven.
