The Lady Eagles traveled to Douglas to play in the Citizens Christian Invitational. The Eagles played two games the first was against Southwest Georgia Academy Lady Warriors and the second game was against the Crisp Academy Lady Wildcats.
In game one, Rayleigh Faircloth drove in seven runs on four hits to lead David Emanuel Varsity Lady Eagles past Southwest Georgia Academy Varsity Lady Warriors 13-5 on Saturday, August 15 at 531 Van Davis Rd. Faircloth hit a grand slam to left field in the third, scoring four, doubled in the first scoring two, and doubled in the second scoring one.
The Lady Eagles were the first to get on the board in the first when Faircloth doubled, scoring two runs.
A sacrifice fly by Payton Peebles, a double by Faircloth, and a single by Kate Yeomans helped DEA extend their early lead in the second.
The Lady Eagles added five more runs in the bottom of the third inning on four hits. Kaley Flowers singled, scoring one run, and Faircloth hit a grand slam to left field.
Faircloth earned the win for DEA. The hurler allowed five hits and five runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Brooklyn Sheffield took the loss for Southwest Georgia Academy Varsity Lady Warriors. The hurler went four innings, giving up 13 runs (11 earned) on 15 hits, striking out one and walking six.
The Lady Eagles tallied 15 hits in the game. Yeomans, Peebles, Emily McRae, and Sydney Lively each collected multiple hits for the Lady Eagles. Aubrey Scott led David Emanuel with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. McRae stole two bases. The Lady Eagles ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game.
Ryleigh Moseley drove the middle of the lineup, leading Southwest Georgia Academy Varsity Lady Warriors with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Ava Rathel led Southwest Georgia Academy Varsity Lady Warriors with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position.
