Lady Eagles Roll Past Covenant Academy, 67–24
The Lady Eagles picked up another region victory on Friday, January 16, cruising to a 67–24 win at home over the Covenant Academy Lady Rams. Aubrey Williams led the way with a strong all-around performance, finishing with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Emily McRae followed closely with 14 points while adding 4 assists and an impressive 6 steals. Aubrey Scott contributed 10 points and 3 steals, while Addalyn Terwilliger chipped in 8 points and 4 steals.
The Lady Eagles also dominated the glass. Kaley Flowers posted 6 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists, Rayleigh Faircloth added 6 points and 7 rebounds, and Lyla Martin hauled in 11 rebounds to go along with 4 points.
Eagles Rally Past Covenant Academy for Region Win, 54–49
The Eagles picked up another hard-fought region victory on Friday, January 16, defeating the Covenant Academy Rams 54–49 at home. Ethan Fields delivered a dominant performance, leading the Eagles with 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 steals. Peyton Templeton made his season debut and provided an immediate spark, scoring 9 points and pulling down 4 rebounds. Karson Kettles added 7 points, while Jack Evan Fields contributed across the stat sheet with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Layton Terwilliger chipped in 3 points and 4 assists, Ben Griner scored 3 points, and Robert Reynolds added 2 points.
The Eagles faced early adversity, trailing 14–4 at the end of the first quarter. They responded in the second quarter by outscoring Covenant Academy 18–13 to cut the deficit to 27–22 at halftime. A big third quarter proved to be the difference, as the Eagles held the Rams to just 8 points while scoring 17 to take a four-point lead heading into the final period. The Eagles matched Covenant point for point in the fourth quarter, edging the Rams 15–14 to secure the five-point victory.
The Eagles continued region play yesterday when they traveled to Louisville to face the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars.
