DEA Middle School Eagles lose to Bulloch Academy Middle School in walk-off

A walk-off left DEA Middle School Eagles on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to Bulloch Academy Middle School on Wednesday at Bulloch Academy. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Bulloch singled, scoring one run.

Both teams were strong in the circle. Bulloch Academy pitchers struck out nine, while Eagles sat down four. An inside the park home run by Evie Moore put Eagles on the board in the top of the fifth.

Bulloch Academy captured the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth with a triple, scoring two runs, and a single, scoring one run. The pitcher gave up six hits and two runs over six innings, striking out nine and walking one.

Blakely Brown took the loss for Eagles. The righty went five and one-third innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking none.

Moore drove the middle of the lineup, leading Eagles with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Weslee Fields went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Eagles in hits and stole three bases.

Bulloch Academy accumulated eight hits in the game. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day, and several collected two hits for Bulloch Academy, with two stolen bases.
