Yaliyah Silas, a proud 2020 honor graduate of Swainsboro High School, has achieved another remarkable milestone: earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Valdosta State University.

Currently serving as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force and stationed in Montgomery, Alabama, Silas exemplifies determination and resilience. She has successfully balanced the rigorous demands of military service, motherhood, and higher education.

Silas attributes her success to the unwavering support of her family—her mother, Synetria Pauldo, and father, Telly Worthen—who she says instilled in her the values of love, discipline, and perseverance. “Although I was challenged in some areas, I’m glad that God sustained me through it all,” said Silas.

In addition to her academic and military accomplishments, Silas is also the proud mother of four-month-old daughter, Jounee Young. She cherishes her time with her daughter and the encouragement of loved ones who have consistently uplifted her along the way.

Now a college graduate, Silas is focused on the next chapter of her journey. With bold aspirations and an unshakable faith, she is determined to meet each goal she sets—one step at a time.

Her story is an inspiring reminder that with faith, family, and focus, no dream is beyond reach.
