Mr. Richard Marlow Daniels, 65, of Swainsboro passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born on September 10, 1959, in Swainsboro, to the late Arthur Richard “Dickie” Daniels and Rebecca Dennis Hill. He is preceded in death by his parents and uncle, Robert McElveen.
Richard, RD or "Unc," as he was affectionately named by his niece and nephews, attended ABAC and Georgia State University. He joined the family business at the age of 20 and went on to be named Dealer Principal. Richard won many awards from General Motors throughout the years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, loved Georgia Football, golfing, sports cars and traveling. He was always up for an adventure. Richard took an active role in the lives of his niece and nephews, treating them as his own. He had a huge heart; he was selfless to a fault and never met a stranger. His passing will leave a void in the lives and hearts of his family, friends, community and all whose lives were touched by him.
He is survived by his brothers, Samuel H. Daniels (Maria) and Edward H. Daniels (Cathy), of Swainsboro; nieces and nephews, Rachael D. Callaway (Kyle) of Statesboro, Richard B. Daniels (Emily), Jacob V. Daniels (Jenna), Katlyn Suzann, Jacob Westbrooks, all of Swainsboro; great nieces and nephews, Marlowe Elizabeth Daniels, Richard Blaine Daniels, Jr., Saige Alexandria Daniels, Bethany Henry, Baby Parker Gray Callaway; special friend, Lisa Ricks of Swainsboro; faithful fur companion, Obi; aunt, Sally McElveen of Columbia; uncle, Edward Hill (Caroline) of Savannah; several cousins, and many, many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at First Methodist Church, with Reverend Jim Harrell officiating, assisted by Reverend David Uncles.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Owen Bellamy, Jr, David Berry, Randy Brown, Randall Williford, Henry Terwilliger, and Stuart Bowen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Past and Present employees of Daniels’ Chevrolet, Bo Bishop, Bobby Crooms, Mickey Stewart and Melvin Holden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorials be made to Nunez Baptist Church, P.O. Box 96, Swainsboro, GA 30401 and the Alzheimer’s Disease Research c/o Bright Focus Foundation, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
