Jim and Sondra Cowart of Garfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Abigail Kathryn Cowart, to Ty Chandler Hutson of Metter. The future groom is the son of Jeff and Tamara Hutson of Metter.
The bride-elect graduated from Emanuel County Institute in 2018. She graduated with honors from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is employed at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Mis Cowart is the granddaughter of Mary Gay and the late J.C. Gay of Garfield, and Jimmy Cowart and the late Sandra Cowart of Garfield.
The groom-elect graduated from Pinewood Christian Academy in 2019. He attended Brewton Parker College and is employed by Excelsior EMC in Metter. Mr. Hutson is the grandson of Danny and Joanna Cardell of Metter, and the late Ralph and Betty Hutson of Savannah.
The wedding is planned for June 14, 2025, at Quinney Oaks Plantation in Millen.
