The April 2025 term of the Emanuel County Grand Jury convened Tuesday, April 22, 2025, with The Honorable Tommy J. Smith presiding. The Grand Jurors elected Chad Canady to serve as Foreperson, Beth Jennings to serve as Assistant Foreperson and Amanda Moore to serve as Clerk.
The Grand Jurors and Bailiff John Allen Bailey were sworn in by Judge Tommy J. Smith as to their duties.
The grand jury considered 20 bills of indictment submitted to it by the office of the District Attorney, returning 19 true bills and 1 no bill.
The April 2025 Term grand jurors were sworn in as an investigative grand jury and will conduct committee meetings as necessary to complete their tasks. The reports of the committee will be presented at a future date to the entire grand jury for vote and approval.
