On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the regular meeting of the Swainsboro Exchange Club, President Gary Mason had newly appointed Swainsboro Police Department Chief Ashley Riner speak to the Club. Among the topics he touched on included the recent purchase of a frocking camera system, community policing, staffing, and a new Training and Special Ops Unit. He also related that a Crime Suppression Unit is in the future plans for Swainsboro Police Department.
